What “Canon” Means
In the Digiverse, canon refers to the official storyline and events that are recognized as part of the shared universe continuity.
Canon material directly impacts:
• characters
• factions
• timelines
• world history
• future stories
Non-canon material may be inspired by the Digiverse but does not affect the main narrative.
This page exists to clearly separate the two.
CANON TIERS
Primary Canon
Core story events that define the official timeline.
Includes:
• Main novels
• Major story arcs
• Key character origins
Everything in Primary Canon is considered historical fact within the Digiverse.
Secondary Canon
Side stories and companion experiences that expand the world but are not required to understand the main storyline.
Includes:
• Prequel novels
• Story-connected games
• Companion lore
These events occur within continuity but focus on smaller perspectives.
Companion Media
Atmospheric or supplemental releases that enhance the experience but do not introduce new story events.
Includes:
• Soundtrack albums
• Music releases
• Mood or thematic projects
These support tone and emotion rather than plot.
Non-Canon / Inspired
Content created for gameplay, experimentation, or fun that is not part of the official timeline.
Includes:
• Hypercasual games
• Promotional events
• Alternate gameplay modes
• What-if concepts
These do not affect story continuity.
Multiverse & Variant Policy
The Digiverse contains multiple timelines, alternate realities, and dimensional anomalies.
Variant versions of characters may exist across different worlds. These versions are considered canon only within their respective timelines unless explicitly merged into the primary continuity.
Alternate outcomes do not overwrite the main timeline unless officially stated.
This allows the Digiverse to explore:
• parallel worlds
• fractured realities
• “what-if” scenarios
• experimental arcs
without breaking continuity.
Future & Classified Content
Some Digiverse stories are intentionally withheld until official release.
Unannounced projects, hidden arcs, and upcoming phases may be referenced as:
